VAT TAX CLINIC
As a part of the Federal Tax Authority’s efforts to communicate directly and consistently with businesses, it has announced a new campaign called as Tax Clinic which is a collaboration between the FTA and the departments of economic development and municipalities in all emirates.
WHY HAVE THE TAX CLINIC BEEN ESTABLISHED?
The clinics have been established in order to increase the number of registered taxable businesses and to promote compliance with timely submissions of tax returns and payment of due taxes
PHASES OF THE CAMPAIGN
In order to raise tax awareness across the country, the campaign would spread over three months and would cover all the seven emirates.
In Ras Al Khaimah, the campaign had kicked off on Sunday, August 12, 2018 in which the representatives from the Authority were present to answer the queries of the taxpayers regarding the registration with the FTA and other tax obligations . It further encouraged the attended to register for VAT in order to avoid administrative penalties and had introduced them to the procedures which were required for submitting accurate tax returns and settling due taxes .
From August 26-28 the team of analysts and experts from the FTA’s registration and taxpayer Services would go to Fujairah, to Um Al Quwain on September 2-4 and in Ajman on September 9-11, 2018.
On September 16-18, the team would again visit to Ras Al Khaimah, to Sharjah on September 23-25, to Fujairah on September 30- October 2, to Um Al Quwain on October 7-9 , to Ajman on October 14-16 .
The team would again visit to Fujairah on October 21-23, before concluding with its third and final stop in Ras Al Khaimah on October 28-30, 2018.
The FTA has launched this Tax Clinic in order to spread tax awareness among all the business sectors, particularly the small and medium enterprises so that they are at a liberty to ask any questions which they may have .
